Is one of the reasons we don't let people into our lives because often we look perfect from the outside and we don't want to mess that up? There is a scene from Good Will Hunting, which happens to be one of the best movies of all time, Will Hunting is afraid to call this girl back who he really liked. The scene goes like this: "So call her up Romeo." "Why so I can realize she's not that smart and boring, this girls perfect right now I don't want to ruin that." "Maybe your perfect right now and you don't want to ruin that. I think that's a super philosophy Will, that way you can go through your whole life without really knowing anybody... You're not perfect sport, and let me save you the suspense, she isn't perfect either." We spend so much time trying to put up these façades to make it look like we are perfect, we want others to like us and think we are special. The truth is you are special, not because of the lack of mistakes in your life, but for who you are. You are special! You are special! You ravish the heart of Christ! Why don't we just quit wasting our time and be real with each other? I want to be known, I want to be open, honest, and real. I am not perfect, I am far from it and I have made lots of mistakes. But I am forgiven. "No guilt in life, no fear in death, this is the power of Christ in me."
